Are You An Extremist?

Last night I took my family out to dinner at a local spot. In the background they had a Redbull Downhill Mountain Bike competition on.
We were talking about how crazy and intense it looks and discussed how those guys would train for something like that.
I really enjoy mountain biking but never really got into the downhill race stuff. However, I have talked to a number of them and most of them have at least one metal plate or screw in their body somewhere.
Many would call these competitors extreme and I would agree. I am still undecided if they are extremely brave or stupid (ha ha).
One of the principles that my dad taught me growing up is thinking through things to the extreme so you can gain clarity on what you really want.
Here’s a couple simple examples:
“If money were no object what would you do” in other words how would you approach this problem or decision differently.
On the other side…
“If all your money was swept away in an instant”, how would you approach this decision differently?
By mentally going through both extremes it really helps gain clarity by focusing on what you really want to create.
I believe that God created us in His image and gave us each the power to be co-creators of our future.
By gaining clarity with what you want to create it will empower you to work in that direction.
I don’t think that the Almighty wanted us to stay stuck, become broke and then rely on a government welfare program. We have the ability to create so much more and help many others.
I’m not trying to make these thoughts a Sunday school lesson. My main point is that there is a spiritual side to wealth creation and often it’s the more challenging side to conquer. It’s a lifelong journey.
Ask yourself better questions and you will obtain better answers.
