Pie and Gratitude

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday last week.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is all about family, friends and gratitude (and some good eating as well).
I love Christmas and the meaning and symbolism of it, but the commercialization aspect of it can become a drag.
There is so much power in genuine thanks and gratitude.
Most of the world believes in a “finite pie” or a “zero sum game” but this a scarcity view of the world and becomes very restrictive.
Wall Street is built on this paradigm.
If you are trading a stock or an option etc. there is a bid and an ask price. In other words a buyer and a seller. Each has an assumption, I am going to cash out i.e. sell or I am going to speculate growth and buy. But the price of the asset bought/sold only goes one way and there becomes a winner and a loser in that single transaction.
If the asset goes up in price the buyer “won” so to speak. And if the price goes down the seller gets the trophy.
This is overly simplistic I know.
Here’s the point…
The world is not scarce…
It is not a finite pie…
It is not a zero sum game…
The world is multi-dimensional; a place of endless possibilities and growth.
There is an abundance out there because humans are creative beings.
I believe that when you combine gratitude with vision (or in other words faith), that is the seed of creation.
From there it takes work and persistence but isn’t that how nature works?
An acorn eventually becomes a mighty oak.
This year has been challenging for many people out there, and it has created a lot of scarcity thinking.
My challenge to you is to set aside some time to just breathe and give thanks. Eventually, start thinking about what you want to create and take action on those ideas.
Use your resources to develop that vision. This is where true wealth begins.
