Scheming For Your Cookies…
Written by Steve | Published: |
When I was a new parent learning how to deal with toddler behavior my wife taught me a neat trick that she learned from her family.
Here is an example of how she handled one of my sons stealing cookies out of the pantry.
She went to my son and asked him by name if he took the cookies out of the pantry.
He responded innocently…”No!”
Then she went and showed him the open cookie package on the floor of the pantry and she asked him if he did that.
He again responded … “No!”
Then this is where the magic happened.
She told my son that parents have a secret power that when their kids are not telling the truth there is a big bright dot flashing on their forehead.
My son quickly covered his forehead with both hands, ran out of the room full speed and up the stairs.
GUILTY!!!
I wonder if this same technique will work for the US Government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)???
They have been caught intentionally releasing economic data that initially shows the economy is booming, only to revise the data downward in subsequent months.
Here is a recent example:
Just last Friday the BLS published the non-farm payroll numbers for August 2023 and simultaneously revised June and July.
The BLS reduced June’s non-farm payroll (aka jobs) down by 80,000 and July’s down by 30,000.
Keep in mind that they did this very same thing when July’s numbers came out. June’s NFP number was reduced by 24,000.
So how significant is this scheme?
Well when June’s NFP number originally came out they published 209,000. However, after the July revision of 24,000 and the August revision of 80,000 that’s a total of 104,000 out of the original 209,000 jobs reported were FAKE!
Or in other words, 49.7% of jobs were FAKE!
So investors, banks, business decisions, etc. are made with this data that is supposed to be honest and reliable which pushes up markets.
BUT… it’s just smoke and mirrors… a giant SCHEME.
Somehow I think the flashing forehead dot technique is not going to work.
If only we could induce Jim Carrey’s “curse” on Liar Liar to our elected and non-elected government authorities.
Since that is not very probable, what are you doing to protect yourself and your investments in the market during this frenzy of false information bubble?
Don’t believe the hype. I urge you to peel the onion back a little further and look for other viable solutions.
