There is a funny old “Seinfeld” episode where Jerry meets this beautiful woman and asks her on a date.
When he goes to pick her up he doesn’t even recognize her because she looks so different and quite hideous.
As the episode progresses when this woman is in a certain light she is the gorgeous woman he first met, but in other lighting and situations she turns back to the ugly duckling.
Finally, they just ended up parting ways… ha ha.
I feel like it’s kind of a metaphor with the stock market and the Fed speak right now.
This has been a pattern, the Fed chair will allude to not hiking rates making it look more appealing to go into the market and pushing the prices up a bit.
However, after the initial excitement and people actually looking at the leading economic indicators and how America is still in a negative holding pattern then the market cools off again.
