Is It The Lowest of All Time?

Do you remember that character, Biff, in Back to the Future, Part Two? He was very unlikeable and actually quite dumb but became the wealthiest in the whole town.
How did he do it?
His future self stole the time machine and traveled back in time with a Grays Sports Almanac.
Because he knew the future he could place bets on any sporting events and win every time, making him wildly rich.
I often joke that I wish I had either a crystal ball or a Grays Sports Almanac. It would really help navigate the future.
Unfortunately that doesn’t exist but we can look at data and create strategies that will help us navigate through the storm.
I recently read some research that went through various points comparing our current situation to the last asset deflation bear market.
If you look at this chart they overlay the pattern of the S&P 500. It’s scary how similarly the charts move together.
If you used this as your ‘crystal ball’ it would mean the market is still up for a 45-50% downward retracement.
To those of you still in your earning years. We can just dollar-cost-average down right?
Maybe…
But for most people the US Personal Savings rate is at the lowest point of all time. Meaning that most people can’t even take care of a buying opportunity if this deflation pattern does come into reality.
I’m not saying the deflation chart is going to come to fruition. There are so many variables in the market. It will catch even the savviest investors in a snare. My point is that nobody actually knows. And those that say they do are lying or just trying to get clicks on YouTube.
This is why we apply a far different approach to wealth than the regular Wall St. brokers out there. We can actually deploy strategies that help you protect your hard earned cash from losses while allowing you to gain the growth of the market.
However, it would be so much easier to have that Grays Sports Almanac. So if you find one let me know. 🙂
